Front Desk Receptionist needed for mid-sized Columbia law firm. Full time position (M-Th 9:00am – 5:00pm, Fri 9:00am – 3:00pm) – salary commensurate with experience, full health benefits, paid sick/personal, holiday time off, 401K
Duties/job requirements include but are not limited to:
- Having basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft programs (Outlook & Word)
- Greeting people who arrive in the office in a professional manner
- Answering the phones and directing calls to the appropriate individual
- Opening, scanning, and routing mail to the appropriate department; scanning and e-mailing documents hand-delivered to the office
- Assisting individuals/teams with any clerical tasks that need to be completed
- Maintain scheduling of conference rooms for attorneys and/or guest attorneys

Associate Director of Admissions, UofSC School of Law

The Associate Director of Admissions has a critical role in the administration of all facets of the admissions program for the School of Law. The Associate Director will use data to direct resources of time, effort, and funding to plan, implement, and refine recruitment efforts of the Law Admissions Office. The Associate Director collaborates with the Associate Director for Admissions Operations, the Associate Director of Communications and Recruitment, and the Vice Dean for Admissions, Career & Professional Development, and Student Affairs. The Associate Director exerts leadership in the team effort to continuously evaluate the unit’s competitive position relative to other law schools and the applicant pool and recommend steps to meet enrollment goals established by the Dean.

 

Minimum qualifications: Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 3 years related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience.

 

Preferred qualifications: J.D. degree, or law or other graduate school admission experience preferred. Should be familiar with the environment of legal education, higher education, or the legal profession. Facility with spreadsheet, word processing, and data base computer programs. Outstanding oral and written communication skills; must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under deadline pressure.

Associate Attorney

Provides general counsel for educational entities (public school districts) and employers (state agencies, private employers, and non-profits). Civil litigation will primarily be in the areas of insurance defense relating to personal injury and employment claims, though the attorney may work in other priority areas of law depending on client needs.  Job applicants should be able to work independently and have the drive to complete tasks timely.  Strong communication skills required as well as positive interpersonal skills for client interaction.  Attention to detail and ability to think outside the box are vital skills for this position.  Attorney is required to log and keep billable time through the use of Clio.

Qualifications -

  • Member of the SC Bar (state and federal) with completed 403s
  • Knowledge of the SC Rules of Civil Procedures, SC Rules of Evidence, and Rules of Appellate Procedure
  • 4-6 years of litigation experience, defense preferred
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral
  • Excellent computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office; experience with Clio preferred but not required
